New Hampshire State Rep. Marjorie Smith Endorses Gen. Clark For President

Manchester, NH - This evening in Manchester, State Representative Marjorie Smith of Durham will announce her endorsement of General Wesley Clark for President at a "Conversations with Clark" town hall meeting at the Beech Street Elementary School.

"I am today endorsing Wesley Clark," said Marjorie Smith. "I know that General Clark will approach each problem with honesty, integrity, an understanding of that which has gone before, and a vision of the nation and the world that appeals to the best in all of us. He understands the power and potential of the United States and the opportunity to use that power for good. Moreover, he has experience, rarely found, in working with allies and opponents to try to find common ground despite significant differences."

Marjorie Smith is in her fourth term in the New Hampshire House of Representatives where she is Assistant Democratic Whip. She serves on the Finance, Rules, and Legislative Performance Audit and Oversight Committees, and as the Democratic alternative to the Fiscal Committee. She has also served on the Judiciary and Family Law Committee, the Public Higher Education Study Committee and the Redistricting Committee.

In addition to her legislative work, she is chair of the board of the New Hampshire Women's Policy Institute and is on the boards of directors of the New Hampshire Humanities Commission and the NARAL NH Foundation and on the Board of Overseers of Strawberry Banke.
