Date: November 29, 2003 Clark Still Leading the Pack in South Carolina General Wesley Clark is still the front-runner in South Carolina. According to the latest poll from the American Research Group, Clark is polling at 15 percent in the Palmetto State. The closest competitor is John Edwards from neighboring North Carolina, at 12 percent. Other Democratic candidates, Howard Dean, Joe Lieberman, and Al Sharpton, each poll at 9 percent. Dick Gephardt polls at 7 percent. John Kerry and Carol Moseley Braun both poll at 3 percent. Dennis Kucinich polls at one percent. Nearly one-third of likely Democratic primary voters remain undecided. The survey is based on 600 telephone interviews among a random sample of registered voters in South Carolina saying they would definitely vote in the Democratic primary. The survey was done from November 21-26, 2003. The margin of error is +/- 4 percentage points. |
