October 9, 2003 General Clark to Kick Off New American Patriotism Speech Tour Clark Will Give Four Major Policy Speeches Outlining His Vision For A New American Patriotism Little Rock, AR, General Wesley K. Clark (Ret.), will make a series of four major policy speeches over the next month to outline his vision for a New American Patriotism. The speeches will cover four main subjects: citizenship and service, health care, the economy, and national security. General Clark's optimistic, forward-looking agenda for America is based on his vision for a new era of patriotism. "Today, America faces enormous challenges - we have hundreds of thousands of troops in harms way, our security is threatened at home for the first time since the Cuban Missile Crisis, and our country has lost three million jobs. My vision for a New American Patriotism calls for leadership that will make the right choices for all of our people as we confront enormous historic challenges: the right choices to make our country stronger, the right choices for health care, the right choices for the economy, and the right choices for national security. The Democratic Party is the party of opportunity at home and democratic values abroad. We are the party that always rises to meet our country's challenges. I look forward to laying out my vision for a New American Patriotism over the next four weeks and beyond. The first speech will define General Clark's view of New American Patriotism and specifically detail the ways Clark intends to call upon Americans to help move the country forward. The New American Patriotism speech will be delivered next Tuesday, October 14th in New York City. Clark will also deliver three other speeches during the rest of October and November General Clark has tentatively scheduled the following:
